A favorite Poem

They say life would be easier
if I would just let her cry.
Part of life is learning
about being let down
and picking yourself back up.

But she's still just a baby.
Life can be rough, but
she doesn't need to learn
those hard lessons so soon.

There will come a time when
I cannot pick her up.
But she will have seen
that it can be done,
and have the strength
to do it herself.

They say life would be easier
if I just gave her a bottle
or pacifier.
Why tie myself down?
Nursing all day,
nursing all night.

Clearly they have never known
the joy of snuggling
with a warm cuddly baby
as she is comforted in a way
only mommy can.

Life is not meant to be easy.
It is meant to be a journey.
There are ups and downs,
but I plan to be there beside her.
And we will journey together
until our paths part.
